How To Achieve Personal And Career Growth

I recently had an interview with Traci N. Morgan the Founder & CEO of Poised in Purpose, Inc. She firmly believes that everyone’s purpose is directly aligned to their career path, with her purpose to help the masses get on that path and grow.

Here are the things Traci shared on how we can achieve personal and career growth during this pandemic:

1. Understand that we have a new normal and that new normal affects every level and every industry.

Traci emphasized that we need to handle this and take this with a new mentality and look out into the horizon and figure out how to move forward.

2. Entrepreneurship and transitions.

Traci stated that this coronavirus is hitting her harder from an entrepreneurial perspective, however, this allowed her to sit back and look at what is it that she wants to do outside of business and with her non-profit organization and other stuff. She thinks this is clearly showing us that this is the time for us to have an additional source of income that is strictly e-commerce based. For her, that's the key and something that she did. She chose a specific type of network marketing company and it's given her leverage within the CBD, in the hemp industry.

3. Be resourceful.

According to Traci, this is the time where we need to truly understand our network. She mentioned that there are so many times she was taught that our network will show our net worth. If we know an opportunity that can help us or somebody, don't be afraid to go after it and see what they truly bring to the table.

4. Renew your mind so your heart can be renewed.

Traci discussed how she helped others realize that it doesn't matter how small they think their talents are, they can always find a purpose for it. She is also encouraging people on her coaching to dig deep and to recognize that many things are already within us. How can we use those skills we learned from our working environment to do what we love to do, to push through our advocacy, and to get out there and do different things. These are her ways of renewing other people's minds to believe that we are built for this, this is our time and this is our season.

5. Know how insanity works for you.

Traci believes that insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. It's like we're doing something for so long and we're not satisfied with the result or progress. She highlighted that if we are experiencing insanity we have to check our reality. We have to stand in front of the mirror and acknowledge our truth. When we're able to do that, and as we progress, and our mind is changing, then that's when we're going to get better.

6. Aim for Clarity.

Traci explained the importance of clarity on our personal lives and our careers, especially during this pandemic. According to her, this is the time to re-evaluate the circle of people that we're around and our daily habits that are getting most of our time. She mentioned we have to have transparency and clarity on those aspects to get good results in everything that we do.

7. Practice discipline.

Traci affirmed that if we focus on where we spending our time, energy, and finances, it is where our discipline comes in. With what's going on right now, most of the time we lose the attitude of being disciplined and just give in with the different distractions around us. If that's the case, she reminded us to have some affirmations that we need to practice daily to stay on track and be responsible.

8. Stop waiting and pretending you are in the process.

Traci shared her journey through a corporate layoff and the challenges she's currently experiencing in her personal life. She is encouraging us that regardless of the current struggles we are experiencing, we should come out stronger. For us to achieve that, we have to stop waiting and truly be in the process. Don't be afraid to start all over again no matter how difficult it may seem.

9. Start with a vision, not with a goal.

Traci is a believer in starting a vision, not with the goals because she believes that our goals are what we accomplished and that brings the vision to the past too many times. According to Traci, we got to have a vision first on the different areas of our life, the things that we're going through, and what we need to accomplish it. Then, write down those goals and evaluate if those are smart, attainable, and if the results are measurable.

10. Live your life and get some peace.

According to Traci, this comes in the form of removing toxic people whether we remove ourselves or let ourselves transition. She also mentioned that she always prays that if this season is over, may God provide us a transition where we have peace. Even if something may trouble us, we're able to get ourselves back to center and peace that takes us to a place of not being breakable.

Special Thanks

I would like to thank Traci for continuously encouraging us to keep our spirit and energy up in everything that we're passionate about despite of what's happening right now. She wants to remind us that the seeds that we're planting are not going to be unnoticed. Everything is going to happen in its right time and season and the harvest is right around the corner.
